THE STORY
THE CHALLENGE
Entrepreneurship media is dominated by venture funded startup culture, personal brand influencers and highly polished success narratives.
Small business owners, professional service founders and creative operators lack media that reflects how business is actually built, sustained and navigated outside of enterprise and startup corridors.
For Birk Creative, the challenge was twofold:
Build a credible media property that would serve this audience with depth and trust.
Design a repeatable, scalable content and production model that could be used later with enterprise and institutional clients.
THE INSIGHT
This audience does not need more advice.
They need context, language and stories that reflect real operational realities.

THE WORK
Birk Creative designed and built the platform from the ground up.
This included the creation of the platform name, brand identity, editorial positioning and content architecture.
An end to end production system was established, including recording workflows, post production standards, transcription and documentation processes, content archiving and asset management.
The content model is based on long form conversations and narrative driven solo and guest episodes. This structure allows space for leadership reflection, operational storytelling and discussion of emotional and structural realities of business ownership.
Guest selection prioritizes professional credibility, diversity of lived experience and contribution to underrepresented entrepreneurial narratives rather than public recognition or audience size.
A creative collaboration model was embedded into the platform. Independent artists and designers are commissioned to produce original visual and animated assets, creating an evolving visual identity and supporting creative entrepreneurs through paid collaboration.
The distribution strategy is multi channel by design. The Honest Field Guide® publishes across major podcast platforms, YouTube and social channels, supported by an owned web hub and merchandise storefront.
Content is intentionally repurposed across formats to extend lifecycle value and reach different audience behaviors.
To expand the platform beyond audio, Birk Creative produced professionally designed print volumes derived from curated episode transcripts. These publications serve as durable content assets, brand credibility tools and revenue generating products.
THE RESULT
The Honest Field Guide® operates as a sustained media platform with a growing body of long form content and an international guest base.
